WILD GATHERERS

Who doesnt enjoy a good dessert with wild berries?

The truth is that most of the berries that we use to prepare food recipes or liqueurs such as pacharán, are present in nature, although in many occasions collecting them becomes a complex task.

That is why, at the Casa de las Setas we want to share with you our wild fruit pickers! No more fighting with brambles and spikes, now, picking wild fruits will be easier than ever. Blackberries, currants, blueberries, strawberries, sloes...no forest fruit will resist you.

Types of wild fruit pickers

You will not only want to go out in the bush to look for mushrooms, now you will also become a wild fruit picking enthusiast with our practical and simple pickers. On our website you can see different types of pickers and buy the one that best suits your needs.

We know that comfort must take precedence over all things, so the metal wild fruit picker, the plastic wild fruit picker, and the wild fruit picker or small wild fruit picker, are four types of cheap pickers with which your trips to the forest will be very comfortable.

Above all, because they have a handle and a container box, so that no fruit escapes!

What is the best time to pick wild berries?

The best time to pick berries, rich in antioxidants, is during September and early October. At that time, the wild berries reach their perfect point of ripeness, although if you are one of those impatient people who cant wait, take advantage of the summer moments when the heat gives you a little respite and go to the forest to pick the berries you like the most.

And as berries are very delicate, it is best that once you have collected them, you either eat them or keep them cold (but no more than two or three days). Remember that the most important thing is to store your wild berries unwashed, since the contact between some berries and others accelerates their putrefaction.

And finally, accompany your yogurts and smoothies with currants, strawberries and blueberries, or try making a blackberry sponge cake, youll win over all your guests!

The corvillo: an old-fashioned tool

Surely you have heard on more than one occasion that the corvillo is the perfect tool for harvesting grapes, but what if we told you that it is also extremely useful for cutting mushrooms and asparagus? Its wooden handle and steel blade make it a classic that you cant miss in your backpack, and it will make your agricultural tasks much easier!
