Since time immemorial, the truffle has been known by different European cultures, from the Greeks through the Romans, etc., to the present day.

The truffle, as a highly appreciated fungus in the most demanding kitchens. Because of its exquisite aroma and appreciated flavor, and given its scarcity, it began to be harvested in Spain in the 50s of the last century, but until 1986 there was little news of its cultivation. Until a few years ago, the vast majority of truffle collectors in our country believed that truffles could only be produced naturally.

As a truffle collector who had been dedicated to truffle collecting for many years, I thought about the possibility of cultivating truffles and began to read publications by Spanish, French and Italian researchers. From this point on, I began to do my own research or commissioned qualified technicians to do it.

From this, the first truffle mycorrhizal plants were born and the brand VIVER TRUFICULTURA (VIVERTRUF) was created, dedicated to the production of mycorrhizal plants of truffle tuber Melanosporum.

The experience, research, attendance to courses or conferences dedicated to truffle growing, have allowed me to have a broad knowledge of its cultivation.

It is true that we are just beginning to learn about its cultivation, that we still have a lot to learn, many of the theories that we take for granted will have to be changed for other more advanced results, but we have to walk with the knowledge we have at the moment.
