Insignificant pine mycorrhizal, producer of chanterelles

Soil, climate, altitude and orientation

  • It needs seasons with more than 900 mm of precipitation per year
  • It is sensitive to frost, particularly late frost,
  • It grows well from sea level to 700-1000 m altitude depending on latitude and continentality
  • It is relatively demanding but grows well on different types of soil
  • It tolerates acid soils well and performs well on soils 60 cm deep or more
  • It has problems on soils that are too heavy or compact,
  • This species reaches its optimum on slopes or valley bottoms with deep and fresh soils

Soils to avoid in reforestation with insigne pine

  • Waterlogged or poorly drained soils,
  • Farms located at altitudes higher than 800 m
  • Farms located in regions with high rainfall and mild temperatures all year round, since fungal attacks are especially serious
  • Soils with a depth of less than 20 cm located on rocks that cannot be broken up by soil preparation
  • Places with strong exposure to wind, although it withstands it better than Pinus pinaster
  • Soils with ultra basic soils

HOW TO CULTIVATE NISALER PINE

Pine and loquat fruit in all soils except in soils that are easily waterlogged.

If the soil is very hard or compact it is recommended to till it before planting and once planted it should not be reworked and, if weeds grow, they should be poisoned with herbicide.

The arrangement of the trees in the field should not be less than 4 x 4 m

The best time to plant this pine is from October to November and from February to April and, if there is abundant water, at any time, although it is advisable to water the first two years in the summer season when there is more drought.

Fungicide should never be used on these pines as it would kill the fungus. Our pines are of a spring so they will adapt better to the transplant, we have them in forest trays with alveoli of 250 cc and 300 cc, the pines have a height of 20 to 30 cm.

These pines should not be fertilized because it could spoil the lactating fungus, besides it is not necessary because the fungus gets more food to the tree
