Scots pine mycorrhizated with Boletus pinícola
LA CASA DE LAS SETAS has an excellent production of Scots pine, mycorrhized with the symbiotic fungus boletus pinicola, of the highest quality.
The boletus fungus acts symbiotically with the tree, which means that both benefit from this relationship; the tree will grow more, thanks to the mycorrhizae that help it to absorb nutrients that without them it would not be able to absorb and, in addition, it avoids the attack of harmful fungi to the root, so the tree will be much healthier.
HOW TO GROW MYCORRIZED PINE TREES
Pine trees bear fruit in all soils except those that are easily waterlogged.
If the soil is very hard or compact, it is recommended to till it before planting and once planted, it should not be reworked and, if weeds grow, they will be poisoned with herbicide.
The arrangement of the trees in the ground should not be less than 4 x 4 m (13 x 13 ft)
The best time to plant this pine is from October to November and from February to April and, if there is abundant water, at any time, although it is advisable to irrigate the first two years in the summer season when there is more drought.
Fungicide should never be used on these pines as it would kill the chanterelle fungus. Our pines are of one spring so they will adapt better to the transplant, we have them in forest trays with 450 cc alveoli, the pines have a height of 20 to 30 cm.
These pines should not be fertilized because it could spoil the lactic fungus, besides it is not necessary because the fungus gets more food to the tree
