Stainless steel

The Skeletool RX Multi-Purpose Pliers has a total of 7 elements , all of which are made of stainless steel , immunity to corrosion caused by contact with ferrous elements, so it can be used in hostile environments and in extreme environments.

Likewise, it is an alloy that presents unbeatable conditions regarding wear due to continuous and prolonged use under negative and positive pressures . This steel has a very wide temperature range, so it is able to withstand temperatures up to +100 C .

154CM steel

The blade of the main blade of the Skeletool RX is designed in this type of alloy which will not corrode or rust if exposed to hostile environments with high relative humidity or extreme salinity. This material, developed by Crucible Industries , has an added molybdenum that provides a high range of operability .

In terms of sharpness, it is similar to VG-10 steel in maintenance and re-sharpening. In turn, it is considered an ""all-rounder"" , which fits perfectly with the multifunctional idea of Leatherman pliers , as it allows a powerful sharpening and resistant to all types of cuts, including machete-type impact.

Its composition is 1.05% chromium, 0.5% manganese, 14% chromium and 4.0% molybdenum, with a hardness of 58-62HRC according to the Rockwell Hardness Scale.
