The operation of the dehydrators is based on generating gentle and prolonged heat that circulates between the perforated trays inside, on which the food is placed. For an optimum result, the following rules must be taken into account: the lower trays are suitable for thicker pieces, meat or fish, and the upper ones for more delicate foods; the pieces must not overlap, space must be left for the air to circulate; in each tray the food must be of the same size. In case you want to introduce a larger volume of food, remove some trays to give more height. 

The time for dehydration of the food will depend on several factors: thickness, degree of external humidity, temperature and type of product or food. A reference table is provided in the instruction manual, which you can modify according to your own experience. 

Dehydrated products should be stored in suitable airtight containers, so that they do not deteriorate due to humidity. 

Why should I use a food dehydrator?

You can use boletus, trumpets and other mushrooms and dehydrated foods in many different ways: cakes, in salads, rice, .....

When dehydrating mushrooms, fruits and vegetables, most of the weight is removed, so it is especially useful in situations where weight is a problem, such as mountaineering, camping, ...

Once dehydrated you will not need to preserve mushrooms, boletus, morels, ... in a special way.

Dehydrated foods have a very long shelf life, sometimes even for years.

To use them you only need to add water to the cooking process and they will regain their original flavour and texture. They are extremely easy to use. Just cut the mushrooms, meat, fruit, .... dehydrate and store.
